Route 66 - California

Route 66 California, USA – 2017. I was driving from Barstow, San Bernardino County, California to Palm Springs and took some back roads so I could visit part of the California Route 66. It parallels I40 east from Barstow to Ludlow where it turns south and later re-joins I40 about 20 miles from the Arizona border. Some stretches of the road were poorly maintained while others were not to bad. These pictures show some of what was abandoned after I40 took all the traffic away when it opened in 1973.
